Using Remote Desktop (RDP)

Setting Up RDP:

  1. Launch RDP Client:

    • On Windows, open Remote Desktop Connection.

    • On Mac, use Microsoft Remote Desktop from the App Store.

  2. Enter Server Details:

    • Enter the IP address or hostname and port of your Cloud2Render server.

  3. Log In:

    • Enter your username and password to connect to the server.

RDP Options:

  1. Display Settings:

    • Adjust resolution and display configuration to suit your needs.

  2. Local Resources:

    • Enable options to use local devices and resources such as printers, clipboards, and audio.

  3. USB Redirection:

    • In the RDP options, go to the "Local Resources" tab.

    • Click on "More…" under "Local devices and resources".

    • Check the box for "Other supported Plug and Play (PnP) devices" to enable USB device redirection.

  4. Drive Redirection:

    • In the "Local Resources" tab, select "More…".

    • Check the boxes for the drives you want to access on the remote server.

Example Configuration:

  1. Display:

    • Adjust to “Full Screen” for the best experience.

  2. Local Resources:

    • Remote Audio: Play on this computer.

    • Keyboard: Apply Windows key combinations on the remote computer.

  3. More Local Devices:

    • Check printers, clipboards, and desired local drives.

    • Enable USB device redirection by checking "Other supported Plug and Play (PnP) devices".

Final Steps:

  • Save Configuration:

    • Save your RDP settings for future sessions.

  • Connect:

    • Click “Connect” to start your remote session with the configured settings.

By following these steps, you can effectively manage and utilize your Cloud2Render server resources using RDP, enhancing your remote work and rendering capabilities.
